Hi all,

I want to summarize here the main improvements of the MarkIV system over the previous versions.

1. MarkIV boards

    a. Tuning Caps are now 2% rated metal film caps with a binary range of values instead of the decade range and the lower value being 4.7nF rather than 10nF. This gives a more constant range of values over the whole production series of boards and allow a more precise tuning.
    b. Separate voltage regulator and connector for the GUI module option
    c. Separate voltage regulator + power line filter and connector for the integrated GPS option
    d. Connectors for the daughter board implementing the automatic tuning circuit and the switching circuit control. Note that this daughter board is now in protyping phase, not yet released.

2. MarkIV application code

    a. GUI module option, direct upgrade on the MarkIV controller board but can still be upgraded from MarkII and MarkIII controller boards.
    b. Integrated GPS option, upgrade to all models with the adding of a small daughter board with its RF filter and voltage regulator.
    c. Passband digital filter, applicable to any application version
    d. Many improvements in operating procedures and menu navigation control
    e. FFT process to measure the local precession frequency before starting the sensor tuning procedure.
    f. Integrated Post-Processing of multi-line and GPS-based survey grids
    g. Grid Review process with KML file generation for GPS-based survey files.

One more important improvement to the MarkIV systems:
h. Web-based Firmware upgrade of the PPM controller and its optional
GUI module. The new firmware versions come as files through EMail,
they are put on the SD Card and the system picks them up to burn them
on the flash memory.
