Something I have been playing with in the depressingly large amount of
free time I seem to have at the moment.

A NBAQ (Never Before Asked Questions)

WHAT IS CICTUG
This is a site similar in concept to FaceBook et cetera, except it is
all Cambodian and all ICT related.

I have been looking at sites like FaceBook, EduSpaces, Orkut and so on,
but every time I search for Cambodia and a ICT related term, I get lists
of stories about people who work in IT, and who have been to Cambodia on
holiday. Or I get groups with a membership of 1.

This site is a place for user groups to describe themselves, add links
to their mailing lists, post news etc where other Cambodian ICT users
will find it, and hopefully join.

WHO IS AN ICT USER
Are you reading this right now? Unless this is a print out, you qualify.

WHAT IS ITS STATUS
The site is a 'working prototype'. If there is interest in using it, and
contributing to its growth, we can look for a permanent home, and work
on some new features.

If not, I will need to 'recycle' the disk space.

UM - WHERE IS IT?
oh - nearly forgot: http://cictug.robertson.net.nz

Hi Don,

I had a quick look at your application and it looks like a nice
application. I love those ajax'ed thingies. There is one thing which I
don't understand though: I created an account, and now I can only
access things, or create things, for myself. I cannot seem to find
other people, or other blogs anymore. I can only see those when not
logged in. Is that default behaviour?

On the applicability of a site like this: This is an empty site sofar,
and it's not very interesting for people to become a member. If you
really want it to be useful, you'll need an installed base first, and
you need content. Without content, and only test things in it, it will
never leave the test stadium I'm afraid.

I understand the frustration of looking for Khmer group etc on other
social network and didn't find any. I have created Mitleap http://mitleap.com
a social network for Khmer. At the moment it's only in Khmer language,
but next week I hope to release English and French interface as well.
There's a powerful and flexible group feature in there. I hope more
people will join and use the feature.

Chhai

And you have convinced me it is not worth the effort. Thanks
