DoH or local DNS is just fine?

Hi!

I've been a bit confused by this whole DoH discussions and was wondering
what you guys thought about it. I understand that having a DNS server
running on your home network is not for everybody but isn't just better
than DoH in the sense that you don't have to rely directly on anyone?

Or course when you're out of your home/office network things change and
then DoH could be a better solution.

Well I'm curious to hear your experiences.
