Hi

This may be a silly question but do the row and column numbers of the lower triangular matrix put out by the guppy distmat command the same as the edge numbers listed in the "edge_num" column of the file produced by the guppy to_csv command?

I am asking because I am using this matrix for the purposes of calculating phylogenetic distance between placements.

Would it be correct to say that the average distance between placements on edge numbers 3 and 10 is the value in the 10th row and 3rd column?

If I am not concerned with the position of the placements on the edge, I can ignore the "S" and "P" prefixes?

Thanks ya'll,

Keith
