to PPIG Announce
Hello PPIGgers,

This is a reminder that PPIG 2025, your friendly and constructive meeting about people and programming, takes place this year 8th - 12th of September 2025 in Belgrade, Serbia and online.

The abstract submission deadline is upon us - please get your provisional titles to us at https://easychair.org/conferences/?conf=ppig2025 by Wednesday. You'll then have a full month to develop your ideas, with the full submission due June 2nd. Reflections, demos and art pieces have an even later deadline - July 1st, but don't hesitate to get them in early!

We’d love to hear your thoughts about programming as a socio-technical system, interdisciplinary design methods for and with programming, programming as an interchange between digital and physical systems, and any other places of intersections in programming; but lots of other topics are welcome too.

We’re excited to announce this year's first keynote speaker: Dusica Filipovic Durdevic, Professor at the Department of Psychology at University of Belgrade. She will speak about the complex and dynamic relation between language and mind, and what that tells us about programming languages and people. We’re also putting together a panel on "How do socio-psychological methods for programming languages work in industry?" with many of our friends from Jetbrains who are also kindly hosting us. We will have a productive discussion on how PPIG research is used in practice, what works well, and where there might be new opportunities.

Doctoral students! Come and talk about your work and see whether your peers and a few more senior folk can offer any constructive help. Plenty of time to submit - July 1st.

The full CfP is at https://ppig.org/workshops/2025-annual-workshop/

Looking forward to hearing from many of you,

Mariana, Luke, Vladimir, Agnia and Ilya
