This is a gentle reminder regarding the upcoming IEEE Symposium on Visual Languages and Human-Centric Computing (VL/HCC) 2024, and Annual Meeting of the Psychology of Programming Interest Group (PPIG 2024), scheduled to take place at the University of Liverpool, UK, Mon 2 - Fri 6 September.
We are excitedly putting together an interesting programme, including as in previous co-located years some joint sessions between PPIG and VL/HCC which we hope will foster interdisciplinary dialogue and collaboration across domains.
We invite you to mark your calendars for the following key VL/HCC tracks and dates:
Research Paper Track:
- Abstracts only: April 19, 2024 (tomorrow!!)
- Submission deadline: April 26, 2024
Posters and Showpieces Track:
- Submission deadline: June 25th, 2024
Workshops and Tutorials:
- Half-day or full-day sessions on any relevant topics (e.g. relating to VL/HCC+Generative AI, end-user programming, visual languages, domain-specific languages, software visualisation, and CS education) are all welcome.
Graduate Consortium (joint session with PPIG):
- Submission Deadline: May 17, 2024

- Submission deadline: May 30, 2024
Reflections, artworks, and demos:
- Submission deadline: June 14, 2024
Moreover, we are delighted to announce our keynote speaker, Dr. Nikolay Burlutskiy, Director of Artificial Intelligence at AstraZeneca R&D, UK. Dr. Burlutskiy will deliver a keynote speech on "Building interfaces between pathologists and AI models for agile drug discovery and development". Further details about additional keynote speakers, including those for the joint keynote session, will be announced shortly.
