Dear UK alumni

CALLING TO ALL UK ART & DESIGN GRADUATES AND/OR STUDENTS, WE ARE INVITING YOU TO MAKE A SPECIAL DESIGN FOR THE FIRST UK ALUMNI AWARD.

British Council is organising UK Alumni Award to recognise and reward outstanding personal achievements in the workplace and society made by our UK Alumni. This year there are five award categories as follows:

 

    1.      Education

      This award seeks to recognise alumni who have demonstrated contributed to the development of education at any level in Indonesia. This can include the work of the individual in a professional or volunteer capacity that gives impact in the development of national education.

    2.      Social Entrepreneur

      This award seeks to recognise alumni who have demonstrated contributed to the development of implementing business practices at the community. Bring positive change both social and economical to the community as well as inspirations to others.

    3.      Environment

      This award seeks to recognise alumni with creative ideas for developing climate solutions from a range of different areas including community development, corporate, education, government and media.

    4.      Business

      This award seeks to recognise alumni who have demonstrated contributed to the development of business and professional work in Indonesia.

    5.      Journalism

      This award seeks to recognise alumni achievements in journalism and media, demonstrated through devotion to informing the public on important issues which involved on-the-ground reporting and embracing highest ethical and professional standards.

The awards (trophy) will be given to all winners in five categories and it will be a privilege to present the award which is designed by our UK graduate and or student.

If your design is chosen, your name will be recognised at the VIP invitations, mentioned by MC at the awarding dinner reception and also at the trophy. You will also be invited to attend the awarding dinner reception to meet potential contacts and build your future network on:

With your creative design in colour with actual size of the award trophy providing details of the materials used and estimated production cost. The selection criteria will be based on the uniqueness of the design and yet reasonable cost for the production process.

The selected design will be announce in the UK Education website (www.educationuk.or.id) on 17 October 2008 and the winner will be invited to the Press Conference of UK Alumni Award on 18 November 2008.
