For this month’s GBM, we’ll be discussing Filipino identity. It should be a fun meeting with some introspection and reflection. As always, you’ll be able to hang out with some cool people and eat some snacks.

Join PennCIL and Givology at Penn for a night of music and dance in support of international access to education. Ticket proceeds will go towards expenses of a student from The School Fund (the non-profit with which PennCIL is associated) and Givology. Students often only require $150-$200 per year to continue their education. We can make this happen.
**Tickets: $5 pre-sale and $7 at the door. Pre-sale tickets - pay a board member in person or online via venmo.**

Ice Skating with Penn VSA

Come out and enjoy a fun-filled night of ice skating with the UPenn VSA! All are welcome, so feel free to bring a friend (or ten). This is one of our signature events, and a great way to bring in the Winter season :)
Tickets will be $8 for individuals, or $6 if you buy them in a group of ten. If you have a group of 10+, please email your list to cy...@seas.upenn.edu.
We'll be offering plenty of baked goods and heart-warming liquids to keep you toasty as well, so you can skate deep into the night.

Brad, a fellow Filipino and organizer for the Philadelphia Asian American Film Festival has invited us to watch a screening of Graceland. Both entertaining and disturbing, Graceland (which premiered at the 2012 Tribeca Film Festival) is a gritty and gripping crime thriller, weaving plots of political corruption and human trafficking into a kidnapping-gone-wrong narrative, making for one intense and unpredictable ride. Tickets are $6 for students.
(Mature audiences: Explicit Content, Nudity, Graphic Violence, Children in Danger)
Starring Arnold Reyes, Menggie Cobarrubias and Dido de La Paz.

Each class is responsible for bringing certain elements of the meal: FRESHMEN: dessert, SOPHOMORES: bread/salad, JUNIORS: side dishes, SENIORS: main course. Join us for a critical conversation on the past, present, and future of affirmative action in higher education. Participants include Natalie Herring, Associate Dean of Opportunity and Access at Penn Admissions, and Charles Noble, Research Associate at the Kirwan Institute (working directly on the Fisher v. University of Texas at Austin Supreme Court case). Brian Peterson, Makuu Black Cultural Center Director, will moderate.
