Alternate Forum

I was lucky enough to get my UP! delivered right before the CNY. In
fact I ordered it, and had it in under a week. I was pleasantly
surprised, especially since they said it would be about 4 weeks before
I received it.

I was wondering if anyone knows of another Forum that deals with UP!
printers. I have surfed all the RepRap and Mendal forums, and it
seems like its now an unspoken item. I am just looking for a place
where other UP!'ers hang out. Since the PP3DP ones are down more than
up lately, I imagine more people then myself are looking.

I haven't used IRC for years. Does it support time-shifting and search
like a message board does? IIRC, it was all real-time and therefore
lent itself to communities that had few timezone differences plus it's
impossible to search previous conversations. I see that MakerBot and
MakerGear have them; what's the benefit?

Benefit for Makerbot et. al.:

"My stuff broke/isn't working/etc, help!"

Debugging in real time is a bit easier. Not a super huge deal for the Up! printer - less options....

That was what was intended by the forum link below but not sure if its been adopted. Doesn't look like it. The google group is quite a wealth of knowledge if people just search first. Of course problems are dated to the equipment at the time but its a great starting point. A forum with stickys around common places to start might help.
