Iwas able to get windows 10 installed on the Toughpad. I had to do a clean install. The problems I was having were due to the Toughpad having Windows 7 32 bit on it. Panasonic only supports Windows 10 64 bit on the Toughpad. So after doing the clean install and downloading the Windows 10 drivers from Panasonic, all is running well now. The Toughpad runs Windows 10 better than it did Windows 7, probably because it can use all 8 GB of ram that is installed in it.
Hi there to all I am having terrible trouble locating drivers for 98se on the Panasonic Toughbook cf 28. I bought it for 5 from Gumtree and it has a 98se License Sticker on the Bottom so am Assuming they are Available?
glad you sorted it out, but of course they don't install because they are windows 2000 drivers. I never advised to install them. I tried to say open the driver files and examine the INF files and driver files to verify what hardware was being installed. Then go to Intels own website, driver guide or wherever and download a windows 98se driver.
For example. I would find the driver that says Network or NIC. Extract it, not run it becasue I know its a 2000 driver. Then I would open the INF and I would see its a 3com, intel, broadcom whatever it is and I would look and see what harwdware ID it is for. Once I know that much information then I can go find a driver for that specific hardware. That is how its done. ?
Now for Sound under Dos there is a ESSDos Driver that can be Used with the Allegro but the Laptop has Assigned the Wrong Irq to the Soundcard for the Dos driver to pick it up. there is only a option in the bios to let the bios manage irq or the os, but the bios has no irq allocation Anywhere. is there a hidden menu with these old Beasts?
it Recognises it but its on irq9 and no Games see it still so I am thinking maybe I need another driver for windows as I cannot see a legacy Driver option under device manager, only the Allegro Main driver.
Hi, I just bought a couple on e-bay. I went to the
panasonic.com site, entered cf-29 in the search window, then support, and I registerred. Then you can download all the drivers for free. (Manually instal The Driver, or it will not find it)
HOWEVER, I put Windows 7 in my other machine which is a CF-29N series and I cannot get a sound driver or a touch screen driver to even be accepted by the OS. I downloaded the cf-30K series drivers (The only one that offered Win 7 capabilities) from the panasonic site. I could use some instruction from someone who has successfully completed this on Win 7.

I did a search of the forums and the internet as well and didn't come up with any actual answers. Just a couple of infuriating posts where someone mentioned that they had figured it out etc but never disclosed the answers.
I did find out and verify that the Mk4 does indeed have the Silicon Motion SM710 LynxEM VGA in it but I had some trouble with many of the drivers around the internet. some did install but obviously were not correct. I haven't tried the Lynx family driver that is hosted in Vogons Drivers but I will share that I had perfect results with a driver titled "lynxem-Win9x-6.0" in win 98se. I don't know how to submit to the Vogons Drivers site so I will just attach that driver here.
OK, so now my actual problem. Trying to get the sound device working was a bit rougher. The hardware identifies as "ESS Technology ES1988/9 Allegro-1 Audiodrive" and the hardware ID is "VEN_125D&DEV_1988&SUBSYS_833810F7&REV_12" which leads me to assume that it is a 1988 Allegro-1. I tried a ton of drivers for the series and finally "ES1989_SE1136" got the sound working right in Windows. However, there is an entry in device manager listed as "Soundblaster Pro or Compatible" as well as the gameport which have the dreaded yellow exclamation point symbol. Device manager claims to find the drivers for it in the ES1989_SE1136 folder and installs them but clearly something is wrong. I am attaching a .png of device manager and the UnknownDevices readout on it.
So, if sound works perfectly in windows, why am I concerned? Well, it doesn't work very well in a DOSprompt window. I tried a slew of DOS titles from Monkey island to 4d boxing and could not get sound going. Interestingly, I did run Quake 1 dos executable in a DOSprompt window and it had sound. Almost kinda scared me actually. I haven't gotten it working in pure DOS mode either but I also haven't tried too much. It seems to be recognized by the dos mode drivers but I have to look into that more.
So I guess my question is does anyone have one of these with all drivers correct in device manager and can steer me in the right direction? This thing is way too weak on the GPU side for win98 gaming so I wanted to use it as a simple DOS gaming laptop.
OK, well I guess never mind. I did finally find a couple games that do use digital audio in both Dosprompt and DOS mode. Apparently there is just no Wavetable or OPL support. Just SB Pro digital audio.
Update the mouse driver to the touchpad/touchpanel driver for your model number from the panasonic website. Windows will automatically use a generic mouse driver because mouse "has" to work. It's is the ps/2 mouse driver that must be updated to the correct driver then your touchscreen should start working correctly.
I'm having problems with my touchscreen also. I have a air force only model and can't find the drivers. If anyone could point me in the right direction I would appreciate it. Panasonic was no help at all
Have you checked under the device manager in WinXP to make sure that all your peripherals are recognized? And like lingster mentioned, turn it on in the BIOS. It appears that there are a few people that have the same issues. The way I would proceed is to
you should not have to disassemble to check hardware. there are software tools like SIW for windows. If you can boot into OS it will tell you everything you need to know about the system. its free to use on personal equipment, I purchased the life time Tech license and use it daily.
The order in which your drivers are installed may well determine if your touchscreen will work. To fix this issue, you need to load the needed drivers on a flash drive or another machine. I suggest

Finally, install the Touchpad/Touchscreen driver FIRST. Install then video, then audio, then the rest....EXCEPT save the LAN and WLAN drivers, respectively, for LAST. If you have GPS, add after LAN and WLAN drivers are installed.
Try to get a driver touch screen driver from fujitsu for win7. I saw online that somebody was successful when they did this. You may have to reinstall the touchpad driver for xp afterwards, using have disk. Good luck
Uninstall the Mouse driver, then reinstall it (NOTE: make sure you install the correct driver for your unit! You will need the ENTIRE model number to find the right driver from Panasonic. This is found in BIOS or on the bottom of your machine.)
I have the software. I have to send it on a memory stick. Then I would ship it to you. The will give you and Web Address with a video will show you step by step. This will Cost You $50.00 E-mail

The MarkIII definetely has a calibration utility. I have one here (confirmed MK3: CF-29HXXXXX and touchscreen) it consists of nine "crosses" that you have to press using stylus and then you must press enter to confirm it
I recently add the AX200 Desktop Set to my PC build. Wifi works fine, but windows device manager can't find bluetooth device. I've tried some suggestions in the forums like checking & installing the driver, restarting bluetooth services, and finally checking the M.2 Key E Slot in my motherboard. Strangely, when I tried to boot from Linux Ubuntu LTS 20.04 FF, it detected all the capabilities of the network card, both BT and WIFI.
Have you found any solve to this issue for people who are having the issue persist through tons of wipes>restarts>installs>restarts? Personally I dont use the wifi or bluetooth other than for printing, I'm hard wired otherwise and recently went to print something today and notice both my bluetooth and wifi adapters gone. Looked for them in dev manager, both also gone. Did your solution a ton of times to no avail. Updated bios, tried again, nothing. For reference I'm using an Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Hero Wifi, and normally my bluetooth/wifi adapters are disabled, but I can always see them and they're greyed out on my adapters page. I noticed they were just gone today and started troubleshooting and nothing has worked yet. I also did a network reset when all else failed, to try and get it to reinstall all the network adapters but that didnt work either. Anything else you got we can try? Would be greatly appreciated.
Yes, I unplugged my LAN connection and made sure windows displayed "no connection" on the taskbar. The WiFi on the AX200 works (it can find networks in search), but I didn't connect it to any network ever. Especially since windows informs me that I have no internet connection whenever I unplug the LAN cable.
If you're sure that you are staying disconnected, then keep uninstalling the drivers and rebooting until the drivers are gone. Remember that this is Wireless and BT both. In the BT case, the Intel driver is gone when you either don't see the device or you see the device listed generically with a Microsoft BT driver (I have modified my instructions above to make this clear). If this never happens (translation: you've done the uninstall/reboot, say, 10 times), then something is broken in your installation (most likely bad installer/uninstaller from Intel). You could try using Microsoft's troubleshooter (see this article for more information) or try one of the third-party driver driver removal products (I don't have a specific recommendation (I personally have never had to use one), but this article provides some recommendations).
