Please can you make a version of Poyozo for Google Chrome? Thanks!

Hi Tushar!

We'd like to make a Google Chrome version since Chrome is zippy quick
and seems to also have a nice and simple plugin architecture.

The main reason we chose Firefox (and stand by it for our initial
prototype) is that it has a much more mature plugin architecture. This
lets us Poyozo do two things:

1 - fetch data from web feeds + social networking services in the
background (as you browse)
2 - most importantly. store your data safely on your computer -
Firefox has had great support for client side databases for a long
time.

We personally haven't done Chrome development yet, but if we reach our
Kickstarter (fundraising) goal we will have enough development
manpower to definitely figure out what it takes to build a Chrome
version. (For more information about our fundraising and to help us
spread the word please see :

)

Thanks ! Please stay posted and we'll let you know if/when Chrome
plans roll about! (In the meantime, check out Firefox 4's builds,
they're fast and lovely!)

Yours ,
Max, for Poyozo and the Society of "Own Your Own Data"

Hi Max,

Thanks for your response!

I know that Chrome's plugin architecture is more restricted than
Firefox, however, it still has a lot of capabilities:

1 - It can fetch data from web feeds and social networking services in
the background as well. As an example, check out Chromed Bird and
Mashable's Chrome plugins. They're pretty amazing!

2 - I'm not sure about storing data on the computer, but Chrome has a
nice built-in notification architecture as well. Maybe the storage is
something you could look into.

3 - I downloaded Firefox 4 Beta within the hour it came out (I'm a
geek, but honestly, who here isn't?), but the plugin doesn't seem to
work 100% well in the Beta. None of my services turn on, and I'm not
really sure what I'm supposed to be seeing.

I would donate to Kickstarter if I were earning money, however,
unfortunately I just graduated an am looking for a job - in fact, I'm
going to submit a project to Kickstarter in a few days as well =)

Poyozo's awesome and looks great, but I'd really like to see it on
Chrome. I think you'll find a lot of the geekier people have switched
over to Chrome, although Firefox 4 is also pretty amazing. I'll have
to give Poyozo + Firefox 4 another try tomorrow!

Thanks again!
