No sound at playback

I have read and followed the steps on the Knowledge based article on
No Sound - nothing is muted, the correct audio/midi device is listed,
the sample .mid device played . I checked the devices listed on the
computer, nothing is muted there. The midi sound works on all other
programs - I used Windows Media player for Windows XP - and it works
on every file and folder for both midi and mp3. But I get no sound,
nothing from Power Tab. It used to work. Is there anything else I can
try?
