Team,

GEOPM 3.0.0 has been released:
https://github.com/geopm/geopm/releases/tag/v3.0.0

The latest documentation is here:

As a reminder: the GEOPM project now has three major components:

1. GEOPM SystemD Service
  • Decouples session management requirements and the save/restore mechanism of HW controls, from HPC resource managers
  • Sysadmin support for fine-grained access management on a per-feature and per-user basis
  • Guide: https://geopm.github.io/service.html

2. GEOPM PlatformIO Library

3. GEOPM Runtime Library

Some of the highlights of version 3.0 release include:
  • Enhancements to the GEOPM Service (geopmd) - a standalone component to the GEOPM project, alongside the hardware abstraction layer (GEOPM PlatformIO) and the automated optimization library (GEOPM Runtime)
  • Runtime support for any Linux application (extending beyond basic MPI and HPC use cases)
  • Improved Security Model
  • Communication between the GEOPM Runtime and the user application is managed by the GEOPM Service and is more secure.
  • Introduction to energy-aware resource management with PBS
  • Job launch support for PBS/PALS environments (in addition to Slurm and ALPS)

Features for the future releases:
  • Enable GEOPM Service communication over gRPC
  • Container-support for cloud environment
  • Enhanced support for sysfs based device drivers
