Hi,

Have anyone of you guys tried to use a 2D Barcode Scanner into your
application. I have tried to use 1D wedge scanner that is connected to
a PS/2 port and it work fine. I guess they call it KeyBoard Emulated.
But with our new 2D scanner that connects to the COM ports.... I don't
have any idea how to capture the data in to my application. We have
tested the 2D scanner thru the Hyperterminal but technically I don't
know how to get those information directly. Pls. advise. Will
appreciate it very much.

Communicating with Serial ports is like reading from and writing to a file.
Take a look at :

Hello,

Powerbuilder is not my strong suit, so if the following post is
complete drivel please forgive me. Is there a way you can use
Microsoft's MSCOMM ActiveX control? I use this all the time in VB
applications; it just camps out on the serial port and triggers the
OnComm event when data arrives.

What is the make and model of the scanner you are using ? Perhaps if you
post that here somebody who has worked with it could help or research it.
