Dear friends,

We are in process of developing an intranet/extranet business application.
Its an n-tier application, being partitioned in Application, Business and
Data Layer.

We are following the below architecture and technologies :

Business Layer using Enterprise Java Beans (EJB) hosted on WebLogic Server
and Data Layer has Oracle.

We have 2 Application interface

1) We have thin client interface, which we are developing using Java
Servlets.

2) PowerBuilder as Windows32 Client.

Now I would like to know that would PowerBuilder can work with EJB
components which are hosted on WebLogic.

Can we use the same EJB components which we are using with Java Servlets.,
Is any special point needs to keep in mind while developing EJB?

Pls answer in detail. Thanx in advance.

with best regards

Atul Jain

We have a similiar situation. Our application server is Websphere.
Front-end is Powerbuilder Window front-end & Web-browser.

Is it possible to call the javabean objects in Websphere from
Powerbuilder?

regards.

I don't think PB is so open that it can called other J2EE server
such as Weblogic or Websphere. Most likely, you need to give
up the idea of using Powerbuilder as the powerful Window
front-end. Hope a PB expert can stand out and tell me that I am
wrong.

Cheers
