Is it oke if the ancestor window in open event process the
message.powerobjectparm and it's descndant window in open event also
process it's own message.powerobjectparm?

Hi Lame

I dont se any problems in that. But i'd prefer: in ancestor declare an
instance variable (iuo_parm). In open event on ancester iuo_parm =
message.powerobjectparm.
Now i'd use theh iuo_parm on my descendant windows

The only problems you might get are if the ancestor Open event does
something that changes the contents of the message object. For this reason,
Anders' answer is problem the best solution.
