Using XML for dynamic GUI object configuration/customization e.g. relabeling/translating

Has anyone been using XML to manage objet attributes dynamically in PB
applications? We would like let users 'relabel' their GUI and then
persist their settings to database-stored document in XML. The XML
document(s) would allow multiple languages for each object/property
context etc. with fallback to US english. I realize the details a re
sketchy, but I am at the planning stage and some feedback from others
who may have already ventured down this path would be quite welcome.
