How to count rows for the group

I have a group and in datawindow my data is retrieving by the group. But I
am having problem counting the rows by the group, since after grouping it
displays only one row but still in status bar it is showing rows 1 of 2. I
am using rowcount to get the rows and I am getting 2 as a result. I want 1
to be result. Any help is appreciated.

Alka you can try to use a (compute count()by what you want to group) in a select
statment
if you have a sql or sybase and you will count row for the group.
try to do this.

i am using this syntax, but count is returning me 2 records but if I just
select the columns it only displayed once.
SELECT count( RAH."RAH_PAYMENT_NUM")
FROM RAH,
WHERE ( RAH."RAH_PAYMENT_NUM" = 1728 )
group by RAH."RAH_PAYMENT_NUM";

There are 2 records which qualify this condition since it is grouped it is
displaying only one record bot count is returning 2. how to get the count
of exact no. of records which are displayed.

If you are grouping on datawindow level (not on database level) and you want
a number of rows in a group in a datawindow then use computed field with
datawindow function: count (your_col for group n) where n is a group level.
