Is there a way to change the presentation style of a datawindow after it
has been created?

I have a grid datawindow that is somewhat complicated since it contains
several computed columns, thus copying the sql into a new tabular
datawindow is not alot of use. I now want to add a group to it and move the
fields around. In order to do this I need to save it a a tabular datwindow.

Any ideas/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

Gene C

Found this earlier message from Boris Gasin:

You can export the datawindow and change the value of processing
attribute:

$PBExportHeader$d_debuglog.srd
$PBExportComments$PFC DebugLog DataWindow/Datastore object
release 5;
datawindow(units=0 timer_interval=0 color=16777215 processing=1 <<---

Change this to:

Processing Types:
0 -- FreeForm, group, query, or tabular
1 -- Grid
2 -- Label
3 -- Graph
4 -- Crosstab
5 -- Composite

At this time it is not possible to change the presentation style of a
datawindow object after creation.

Please consider submitting an enhancement request.

Aggravating, I know.

While you may want to risk editing exported syntax(which works well for
some presentation styles), take extra care when migrating to/from very
dissimilar presentation styles(eg: crosstab=>freeform)

Gene,

It's a piece of cake.

1) Export the dw
2) Open the exported file
3) Change "processing=1" into "processing=0"
4) Import the file back

Enjoy,
