Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has had success using the slidup feature
through powerbuilder. What we are trying to do is to eliminate blank rows
being printed and displayed to the screen. We have tried checking
moveable, autosize height, and then putting the slideup as directly above.
Also we've tried all above and variations of moveable, and autosize height,
but we still have had no luck. In one of the messages several days ago
someone talked about composite datawindows when working with the slideup
feature. I'm not sure what this is and if it applies to our datawindow?
Also, why doesn't slideup feature work? Is there something we're missing?

Thanks,
Linda

It works fine. Notes:
1. The value of the column needs to be Null, rather than just visible=0
2. Set autosize height on for both the column and the detail band
3. Set the size of the detail band to the smallest possible, as autosize on
the detail band can only increase the size of the row, not reduce it.

Did Simon's solution help at all?
Did you find a solution on your own?

I'm in the same boat as you and Linda.
Nothing I do works.

If you found a solution, please share.

I am getting desperate. But I don't have $300
to pay Sybase for an answer.

hi,
it worked fine. Please notes.

for column object :
Position tab :
1. slide -> All above
2. Autosize Height -> check it

for detail band :
1. Height -> 1
2. Autosize Height -> check it

good luck.

This is where my problem was, only I didn't see its relevance until this
weekend. (DUH!) With a composite, it's important to null appropriate fields
in the SOURCE datawindows BEFORE doing a rows copy or share data to the
child datawindows in the composite. After you've done the getchild thing to
populate the composite, you can null the fields in the composite's children
all you want -- they are NOT going anywhere.
