ASE dummy table

Using ASE you don't have to use a dummy table. E.g.

SELECT 'Today is ', getdate()

is valid.

I know it is valid, but PowerBuilder does not!

Why not just create a "dummy" table of you're own.

I agree, but my original question was very simple - is there such a table or not? I'm aware of all the ways around, I'm just looking for a straight way. Though judging by the two answers that didn't say "Yes" I can assume that the answer would be "No" :(
I don't have ASE (it's a friend's problem), and I know that Oracle has it and ASA too, so it seemed logical to suggest that ASE also had it somewhere...
