Great, this will reduce the amount of traffic in the newsgroups! I hope
:-)
Do you know if there is a release report for this maintenance release
identifying the bugs fixed etc. I could not see one.

I just took a look at the 6.5.1 release. It does not include the PBO8460.dll
file. What is the reason for this? We want to use the Oracle 8.4 driver.
We were using the complete build 615 along with the Oracle 8.4 driver.
However, we were hoping that we would get a release which was GA (which is
what build 620 is) which would include the Oracle 8.4 driver before we wanted
to release anything. So my question: is the PBO8460.dll file still beta?
What is its status? Any ideas when it will be released in a regular
maintenance patch? Any other information on this I would find useful?
Thanks.

More to the question. You've pointed us to the 8.0.4+ driver set
(which is in pre-release status). I take it that these are not ready
for prime time (and included in the 6.5.1 maintenance release). Is
there a status for them being included in 6.5.2???

Sorry if my question was not precise. I am interested in the answer to Tim
Callaghan's question. I already had the PBO8460.dll from the EBF for build
615. However, I had been expecting this same dll to be in the GA release
build 620 (otherwise known as PowerBuilder 6.5.1). So, I am interested in
why the Oracle 8.4 driver was not included in the 6.5.1 release, whether
PowerBuilder still considers the PBO8460.dll from build 615 to be not GA,
when a PBO8460.dll file which is GA will be available - and what Sybase's
recommendation is currently to connect to an Oracle 8.0.5 database server
when using PowerBuilder Enterprise 6.5.x (either 6.5 or 6.5.1).
Thanks.

New release with new bugs?

Create a new object with using Modify ("create rectangle(...)"). Set
property visible = "1~tif(currentrow()=getrow(),1,0)"
Run Modify("destroy...") for this object. If you execute ScrollToRow(..),
or clicked to another row - you get GPF in PBDWE60.DLL.
In Powerbuilder
6.5 build 443 - all ok!!!

Report it as a regression bug.
Please do not cross post.

The cross-post isn't his fault (so much). The original post was cross-posted
and so all the responses (except this one I believe) are also cross-posted.

OK, I downloaded the maintenance release and the distribution kit upgrade
(PB32DK.ZIP - not sure if these files are included in the 18MB maint. release or
not).
Since I wanted to read the release notes before running the setup on my machine,
I was wondering if there is a file that lists the fixes and which pieces are
affected in this release.
The text file that is in the ZIP file tells me nothing.
Also, if either of these installs affect the PB runtime DLLs, I'll probably have
a problem because our company installs the PB runtimes to the client desktops
via the network, and it is a major hassle (ie, "red tape" city) to get a new
version put out there...
I need to make sure the upgrade is worth while to pursue or not...

Thanks,

Mike Kizer (mki...@csc.com)

Mike,
If it is a big deal to put out a new release and if there are no
features/fixes which you require immediately, I would suggest waiting 1 or 2
months. Let others who can use this without so much hassle try it first.
Follow the new posts in this newsgroup (and related newsgroups) and you
should get a good idea what others think of this release. You could also
try it out yourself on a test machine before releasing it to your whole
company. At that point you should have more information to help you decide
if it will be worth the trouble. I am not saying that a list of fixes would
not be useful - just that sometimes it is useful to get more information
from multiple sources to aid you in making a decision.
