Well, I just installed PB 6.5 hoping that it would fix the severe bug that
existed in 6.01 beta 2 which requires me to do full rebuilds (instead of
incremental builds) when I make changes to objects, but this has not been
corrected.

Another person on this newsgroup had the same problem as me, and I would
assume that many more also have this problem. Why did Sybase let this
release go without fixing this severe bug?

Looks like I'll have to do another uninstall and reinstall 6.01 beta 1, the
last good build of PB.

I agree.. 6.01 beta1 is still the most stable release.

Do you have an example to upload? Is this the bug where incremental
rebuild is "doing nothing"?

I am also experiencing this problem with version 6.5. I have a function
that calls a second function. If you do an incremental rebuild, an error
is returned saying the second function could not be found even though they
are both in the same pbl. At that point creation of the executable fails.
This error does not occur if you do a full rebuild. This will be a very
time consuming problem for applications with lengthy library lists.

Include me on the list of not being able to do incremental rebuilds in 6.5.
Is the fact that the application is PFC based have something to do with it??

No, it's not the PFC specifically, because I'm using a non-PFC framework and
have the problem.

Chris McMahon uploaded an example and I see the behavior. It's being
logged as bug #171256.

Chris,

I'm the developer of a product called PowerGen which automates PB
builds.

Could you E-mail me the test case for the problem you're reporting. I'd
like to test whether PowerGen provides a solution. If it does I'll send
you a free copy.

Regards,

Phil Wallingford
