Thanks for fixing that. Now I can start on the second part of my
Powershop RSS project: make a feed of yesterday's usage.

Questions:
My meter records electricity usage to one-tenths of a unit, but
Powershop only shows the numbers before the decimal point. Can the
numbers after the decimal points be shown as well?
Why does the time the readings show up vary so much? I think the
fastest time is 4 hours after the reading, but sometimes it doesn't
show up for a few days. Why are readings not done on weekends?
The documentation mentions "derived" readings are calculated from
smart meter data. How is this different from "actual" readings from a
smart meter? Should "derived" readings be treated as accurate?

thanks
Felix

I am pretty sure we just store meter readings as integers, so I think
you are seeing everything that we hold.

At the Powershop end the upload of meter readings is automated,
however, our meter data providers processes involve some manual
processing. This explains the variable timing and lack of readings in
the weekend.

"Derived" readings relate to AMS meters - we receive half-hourly data
and "derive" readings from that data. You should treat these as being
equivalent to "customer" reads. They are generally accurate, but there
can sometimes be holes in the data that don't get filled in until the
end of the month. Because you have an ARC meter you don't need to
worry about derived readings.

Felix, our developers has just told me that as part of another change
meter readings with decimal places will be available. this will come
out in a future release in the not too distant future, but I can't
give you an exact timeframe.

This is rather peculiar, do you know why it is not automated? How
would they cope when every house in NZ have smart meters?

So how many readings per day will show up on the site for a customer
with AMS meter?

Most retailers currently only get one reading per month and that is
what has been automated by meter owners. Powershop's requirement for
daily reads is new to them and has not yet been fully automated but
will be. My understanding is that the process is largely automated,
but there is a manual overview checking process before the data is
submitted (eg. reviewing missed readings etc.) to us.

AMS data is provided only weekly at present (although there is a
reading for each day).

Thanks. My app will only work with ARC then.

Is there a way for me to tell what kind and what brand of meter a
customer has?
