For those of you who cannot go to COP17 in Durban, South Africa, this year (and I guess the most of us cannot), there is another great opportunity to get engaged with the COP process while making our youth climate movement in Europe stronger, smarter and more solidaric. This is a kind of "Power Shift Europe", beta version. :) You will find all the information and the registration link in the forwarded message below and on the website http://durban-in-brussels.org/

I was there last year at "Cancun in Brussels", it was great. That's why I'm applying to be there agin this year and I hope to see many of you in Brussels in three weeks. Let me know if you plan to go – maybe we could cooperate in booking cheaper group tickets and travel together?

Thank you all very much for getting in touch with us about Durban in Brussels this December. We’re sending with this email the most up to date information about the event and how you can get involved, and hope it helps to answer many of your questions.

 

Registration

We are delighted to announce that the registration is now open to Durban in Brussels - the European youth climate justice convergence. The convergence will be taking place in a central location in Brussels from the 2 - 10th December, at a number of different venues.

 

You can join the event at any time, but for our work it would be really helpful if you could fill in the registration form and let us know when you plan to come. This will then help us to plan the logistics for the event and develop the agenda.

Venue and accommodation

Were still working on finalising the venue of the convergence, but will be announcing details of this soon.

 

We urge people to find their own accommodation options for their stay in Brussels, but are working on trying to organise some basic accommodation options. If you are interested in this, please fill out your registration form and let us know.

 

We’ve also put together a list of accommodation options to help you find accommodation in Brussels.

 

Travel

We’re sorry to say that we can offer no financial assistance to individuals to join the convergence. However, we have put together information and tips on how to travel to Brussels in the cheapest and most sustainable ways.

 

Visa

If you need a visa, again please let us know when you fill out your registration form.

 

Programme

Similar to last year, this year we’re providing an open space for groups and individuals in the climate movement

 

• to follow and discuss the developments of the climate talks in Durban,
• and to make our voice heard from Europe through actions.

 

Activities

We will have a week full of exciting discussions, skill-shares and activities, and we’ll also make sure that we plan ahead, to keep the momentum going and build the youth climate justice movement in Europe.

 

So Durban in Brussels is really the best place for you to come if you want to meet others who also want to learn and do something about climate change.

 

We’re still in the middle of developing the agenda . If you’d like to contribute to it with something, make sure you let us know when you’re filling the registration form.
