It is pretty simple once you get all the parts together.  You will need the softrock lite for the 8.83 mhz if frequency. Attach the inout of the softrock to the if out on the 870. Then attach the sound card outputs form the softrock to your sound card.   That will get the panadapter part working. In order to use the point and click part you will have to do a few more things.  You will need a cat control cable from the computer and the rig and get it working. Then you will have to set the if offsets for your particular offset on the softrock form 8.83 mhz. On mine it was about 15 khz.   After you get it close go to wwv and zoom the display until you can see the carrier very will and use it to fiine tune the offsets for the various modes. That's it,the learning curve is a little steep at first but after a while it will all come together. One note about sound cards. The beauty of using the Kenwood rig IF outs is that they are pre roofing filter which means you can get as wide a display as your sound card can handle.  I use an emu 0202 which is a 192 khz sound device. It will get you about 150+ khz of spectrum in one screen. If you use a standard sound card it will be much less.
If you need more help just give me a shout off list. I am good in QRZ.

Marty thank you so much for your tips. It seems very simple, except perhaps the part of the calibration, but I will do some tests.
I'm not very practical.
I still have a doubt regarding the SoftRock kit: which model should I buy?
I have seen that there are various models for each band.
Thank you for your reply Flavio, ik3xtv

This is the one you need.

Choose the additional crystal for 8.812 mhz from the dropdown list at the bottom.
