In the past few days, Trump has announced that he has the power and intent to eliminate not only Harvard University but all of Musk's funding traceable to government procurements of any kind  and the state of California  on top of SLS going. Can anyone in US build power satellites  or any other energy sources in space, if we the US drop out?

Yesterday I met several people from other nations, most notably EU and South America. The whole world is confused and worried.
What I told them:

Maybe it is not so bad. There are times when things which seem bad can work out for the best. Maybe it is better that greater power and energy of humanity in and from space is not just under top down dictatorial control of one nation. We now have a strong moral duty  , a dharma, to upgrade open international systems (which of course includes intelligent systems for which foresight is an essential fundamental subsystem) to take over. UNESCO has not come close yet to handling all the aggressive fundamental s&t which NSF led from before I came there (1988) to 2013, when Trumpian dislocations started

Exactly as I typed that news came that trump is reconsidering on musk.

But AGI, financial networks and health issues remain.

In advanced science but is crucial that seeing the sky AND new sources of free energy in space  even beyond our solar system  , call for highest priority in a new UNESCO push with ow without UD.

Consider a space advocacy "pact", on the same childish level
as Donald John Trump threats.

----------------------------------------------------------
"We, the enablers of the future development and settlement
of space, REFUSE to allow Barron, Ivanka, Tiffany, Eric,
and Don. Jr. Trump AND THEIR PROGENY to /ever/ leave the
Earth's atmosphere and spread into space with the rest of
mankind."
----------------------------------------------------------

Myself, I'm a bit more forgiving, and would allow progeny
to leave if those five ALL PUBLICLY AND REPEATEDLY disown
their father, DURING his presidency.

Would someone please surreptitiously gather 5 copies of DNA,
so we can check? This is especially important, because I
assume there are undocumented extra children involved, as
well as children of Donald's four documented siblings and
Fred Trump's other undocumented children.
They are victims as well.

Personally, I'm glad that I gently refused a generous offer
for launch loop research funding from DARPA last year.
I was flattered, but I said NO because I believe others can
make better use of DARPA money, even working on "my" ideas.
I shudder thinking about requirements to kiss a dictator's
ass so that my collaborators get paid. My sympathies to
those who are already entrapped.
