Who would be interested in racing in Madison on Saturday May 13th? I need to know if we'll have enough cars to warrant an exhibition race.

I can't this year because my brother's graduation is that day, but I should be able to bring 1 if not 2 cars if Madison has one next year!

Your friends from Milwaukee might be interested... especially if any
Madison people would be interested in reciprocating in September... in
Milwaukee. ;)

I haven't confirmed with the rest of the team, but it's likely that Phantom would bring a car or two. Madison is a good day trip.

I'm sure some PS1 folks would get in on the action. Or at least show up and sit in the pits repairing the cars...

Karen, any update on the viability of an exhibition race in May? Now that the Chicago Maker Fair race has been cancelled, some of us need a new deadline as motivation. I think Pumping Station 1 could field 2 cars by May.

Due to Chicago's initial scheduling and lack of interest, we are not having a race in Madison. There is technically still time to make it happen, but I would have to do all the work and I just don't have the time and energy left in me to do that this close to the event date.

Hi!

Will there be a race at Madison's mini makerfaire this year?

I’m not on the planning committee this year so likely not. It could depend on how much interest there was, but last year I couldn’t get them to put the money up for the rentals and we couldn’t come up with a good outdoor space to put the race. The Madison Faire is in a small event space on the water in little downtown and there is not a lot of big paved area around it.

I'd guess that Milwaukee might be willing to bring a few cars if something happened in Madison.

Phantom could bring 1-2 also.

I'm not getting involved in planning the Madison Mini MF this year, because history and slight and reasons. So there won't be a race, sadly. I'm also just too swamped with other obligations to put that much planning into it. Plus funding is questionable. If anyone is interested in orchestrating one, I can put you in touch with Heather Sabin who is planning the Faire. She went to NYMF and came back all excited to try new things, but I'm just to burned to bother this year. If anyone wants to put in the effort, you might be able to get the Faire to pay for the race.

Note: there isn't a great spot to put the track with where the rest of the Faire is and the best place would require a curb at each pit, and even then it's not great.

Madison sounds like a bit too challenging...

Let's focus on Kansas City, Detroit, Milwaukee... ;)
