Good Afternoon,

So when I start the open5gs Profile I get the attached error. Two nodes starts but the first node only finishes while the second node throws a Exits 127, so it is never in the Finished status.

Thanks for any guidance on this,

Carissa Flowers

Hi Carissa,

I don’t think the creator of that profile maintains it anymore. As an alternative, this profile may be a good starting point if you want to start exploring Open5GS and srsRAN 5G: https://www.powderwireless.net/show-profile.php?uuid=a8326209-031b-11ed-b318-e4434b2381fc.

Hey Dustin,

So I can take a look, however, since srsRAN seems to still may not support network slicing, I still will have to move on to UERANSIM. So I'm guessing that I could copy the open5gs profile and try to fix what is wrong with it. However, the button Copy Profile in the experiment disappears when I change the profile to Open5gs. Do you know why this will be?

Thanks,

Carissa Flowers

That sounds like a good plan.

However, the button Copy Profile in the experiment disappears when I change
the profile to Open5gs. Do you know why this will be?

The profile in question is a git-backed profile, so the “COPY” button only produces the following instructions:

In order to make a copy of a repository based profile, you first need to make
a fork of the git repository at any code management web site that supports
publicly readable Git repositories (ie: GitHub, GitLab, or Bitbucket).
The URL for the original git repository that you need to fork is:

https://gitlab.flux.utah.edu/powder-profiles/open5gs-powder-profile

Be sure to make your new git repository publicly readable so that the Portal
can access it.

Once your fork is created, use the Create Profile page to create a new profile
that is linked to your new (forked) git repository.

Just follow these instructions to create your own profile/repository and go from there. More info: http://docs.powderwireless.net/creating-profiles.html.

Hey Dustin,

So I couldn't fork, the button doesn't show up for me. I am assuming its because I'm not registered in your gitlab instance, so I sent a request didnt get a response back. For I am assuming  the powder app will only create profiles of repos in the powder gitlab instance right?

Thanks,

Hello Carissa,

I've approved your account on the Flux Gitlab server.
