Hi POWDER Team,

I am new to creating experiments and resource reservations on POWDER, and I would appreciate some guidance.

My goal is to collect protocol-level LTE/5G traces (e.g., RRC and NAS signaling). Based on the documentation, I selected the srslte-otalab profile for indoor OTA operation.

However, I am encountering the following issues:
  1. During the Finalize step, I do not see any nodes available to select.
  2. In the Schedule step, after entering the approved reservation and clicking Finish, I receive the message: “There are no nodes in your experiment, syntax error?”

I have already created a reservation for the Indoor OTA Lab resources (details attached). I would like to confirm whether:
  • The reservation was created correctly for use with the srslte-otalab profile.
  • I am missing a required configuration step in the experiment setup.
  • The profile requires additional parameters or specific node selection before scheduling.
I have attached screenshots of the Finalize and Schedule pages for reference.

Thank you very much for your time and support. I appreciate the effort that goes into maintaining the POWDER platform.

Best regards,
Munshi

Hello Munshi,

At the "Parameterize" step, you will need to select radios to use (open the "X310 Radios" and "B210 Radios" sections, and use the "+" button to add rows). For example:

You don't actually need to select anything at the "Finalize" step; that area of the window is just a topology viewer (informational).  Also, it is worth mentioning that your reservation does not start until Feb 16th at 6 AM (MST), so you will not be able to proceed past the "Schedule" step for on-demand ("now") instantiation until that time. You can schedule instantiation to coincide with your reservation window by clicking the checkbox next to your reservation near the bottom of the "Schedule" page.  Note also that you can terminate and instantiate your experiment as many times as you need to within your reservation window.

BR,
-Kirk
