We have all been "thinking" for quite some time on these issues.
Finally, as evidenced by this discussion and other local activity, we
are starting to organize. And, yes, the City of Flagstaff itself is in
fact ahead of the curve, and is starting to ACT!

The City's Sustainability Commission, The Flagstaff Affordable Housing
Coalition, The Clean and Green Committee, the Flagstaff Metropolitan
Planning Organization, Friends of Flagstaff's Future; All examples of
organization(s), evolving thought into direct action, through new
policy and social initiatives.

If you have not already done so, I strongly encourage my fellow
citizens to attend these Committee/Commission meetings. Speak up, get
involved, get to work (not just your day job). This is the root of
positive community-based change. This NPR series, regardless of an
accurate title, is a great way to get people to listen and motivate
them to engage. Thank you, NPR!
