Grade 10 yearbook and graduation

Greetings!

 

I hope this letter finds everyone well and that everyone has settled and adjusted to school year 2014-2015. Firstly, allow me to introduce myself. I am Irene Carpo, mother of Laura Carpo from Gr. 10 section St. Segovia, and I will be your level representative for this school year.

 

My purpose for writing this, apart from welcoming everyone to the new school year, is to discuss the details of the meeting held today, July 21^st 2014, with Teacher Annie Sanchez (HS Principal), Miss Lota Dilagan (assistant principal for HS), Miss Rich Steigerwald (teacher head of the yearbook committee) and Mrs. Karen Sunico (PPA  Secretary), regarding the yearbook preparations.

 

As per Department of Education standards, a Junior High School graduation ceremony is required. The date that Poveda has set for the ceremony is on the morning of March 25^th, 2015. It has also been decided that Grade 10 will have their own designated yearbook committee. Below are some key points that were discussed at today’s meeting:

 

·      The theme chosen by the Seniors for this school year’s yearbook is “free spirited”.

·      Their English teachers will recommend two girls from each class who will be responsible for reminding the class as well as collecting the write-ups.

·      Each section’s homeroom teacher will be responsible for proofreading and approving all write-ups.

·      The deadline for write-up submissions has not been decided yet, but is proposed to be sometime around August, class advisers will inform students of the exact date once it has been established.

·      The tentative schedule for graduation photo shoot is in September and proof shoots will be distributed soon after. Once again, please wait for further announcements for the exact date.

·      For the yearbook, Junior High School students will be given half a page each for their picture and write up, and one whole page to be designed per section where they can compile pictures. 

·      The estimated yearbook fee is P1,650.00 for the standard package which includes 3pcs 5x7 and 1pc 8x10 photos.

·      The Graduation Fee of  P1,200.00 more or less will be collected separately since the announcement from DepEd came after the enrollment period.

I still have a concern regarding my daughter's yearbook. The last time she was asked to return it and up to now they did not return it. When they returned it for the second time, the same mistake was still there which is a wrong write up. I hope you can help us. Thanks a lot
