Just read that Thursday was the day the clowns cried. when a fire burned the Ringling Bros Barnum & Bailey circus in Hartford. 168 died while 484 were injured. I assume that's where Steve got the idea for the song.

Thanks. That was an interesting read. Steve was always good at creating visuals with his lyrics.

As I write this I am listening to "Smackin' The Clowns". It's been years since I've played Steve's "Glossolalia" album. I forgot how good it is.
