Has anyone noticed that, after being run through your dishwasher, glassware and
silverware appear to be cloudy and spotted?  We have a 3-year old GE Profile
dishwasher and have noticed a difference in the last few months.  My wife, Anne,
called the City of Rockville to inquire if there has been a change in
Rockville's water in the last few months.  She was told that there has been no
change since mid-October.  (Prior to that, for a few months, apparently we were
on WSSC water while some work was being done on Rockville's water plant.)  The
person responding for Rockville noted that phosphates are being removed from
dishwasher detergents and, perhaps, that is the reason for the clouding-up of
the glassware.

Has anyone else noticed a difference in their cleaned glassware in the past few
months?

Fred,

I don't know how many responses you've already received regarding your water spots. But, just in case you haven't heard this answer yet here goes:

I also have a 3 year old GE Profile dishwasher. It seems to me that it has always left spots on the glasses after a wash unless I use a rinsing agent. When I use JetDry in the little resevoir it has next to the detergent area in the dishwasher door the glasses come out crystal clear. I once tried stopping the use of JetDry to try and save a few pennies, but the spots came back. I don't know if any of this has anything to do with Rockville's water or not. It's just how we are coping with the way things are.

You've probably already heard that one. But, there it is in case you haven't.
