I'm a reformed font addict. Since January 1st, I've been on a mission to remove fonts from my system that I don't like or know I won't ever use. They not only take up space but when I need to make interesting graphics (I do social media for clients) I have too many too look through to make good choices.
Can someone tell me why I have literally hundreds of Arabic fonts, I can assure you I didn't download them. But what is most interesting is that most of them I cannot delete at all, the option is grayed out.
If you wish to proceed with removing them despite this the link to their locations were posted by me previously then you do so willingly that any outcome and any issues that occur will be your responsibility entirely.
additionally FontBook may not be flexible when you are working with hundreds of typefaces and their fonts and a 3rd party solution may allow your system may benefit from a dedicated font management system optimized for larger font libraries.
Thanks Jimmy. Do you have any 3rd party suggestions? It's just odd to me that they don't allow me to remove fonts in different languages, when I only speak English and I'm virtually 100% sure I will not need Chinese fonts anytime soon. I can't imagine why that is.
I'm sure you (and Apple for that matter) understand that when I'm going for a few interesting fonts to use together my job is a LOT more difficult when I have to scoll thru 1000's of fonts many of them, in various funky languages.
I've made all the designers I support downgrade to FB but I we manage by client or job so it's easier to navigate, disable or enable sets, as a result the applications are faster loading and working with fonts - as a rule I do not disable those "non english" fonts as you may not need them but the system may use them for a number of reasons, web pages for one.
Yes they are. Anyway, I reset the fonts cache and the letters connect in TextEdit, but not in Word InDesign, or Pages, which is where I really need to use the font. Is there a way to get it to work in those apps?
As in, is there a way for me to make a font in Glyphs that works with other apps the way the built-in font Al Bayan does? I did try opening Al Bayan in Glyphs and re-saving it to see what I would get, and I got disconnected letters.
I am using arabic fonts ArcGIS 10. So, everything appears normal, but when I export my layout to EPS file all arabic letters are disconnected. Is there any perfect font that can be used in ArcGIS and exported to postscript ?
I have a small problem regarding fonts since I'm working on Arabic lessons. My problem is that when I view my work in the preview option it is neat and nice, but after I publish the lesson some letters are being misplaced or seems to be collided with the border. Is there some fonts you could recommend for me to get over this problem?
It solved my problem. I guess the problem was not using a Unicode font. Is there any other Unicode font that is supported in Storyline for Arabic text? Or is it a general concept for all Unicode fonts?
And if you're able to share a sample slide with our Support Engineers for testing, that would be gold! You can send it privately to our team here. They'll take a closer look, and will delete it after troubleshooting.
I am trying to design a flyer in Arabic and I can't get any of the Arabic fonts to display in inDesign. Adobe Arabic appears as English in both the font list and in my document (even though it looks like Arabic on the Adobe's font page where I activated it). Other fonts like Beruit look like Arabic in my font list dialog box but appear as pink squares (missing fonts) in my document. I have used Arabic before on my iMac. I am running v16.1 of inDesign and v10.15.7 of Mac OS Catalina. Any ideas? I have installed an Arabic as a language on my keyboard but that didn't do anything. I have a word doc with Arabic text that the client supplied, which shows up correctly in Word but I can't do anything with it in inDesign. I have a client who is willing to help me type in the text (not my preference). I am hoping to copy and paste the Arabic content from Word into inDesign and then format it. Any ideas why I can't get any Arabic fonts to display within inDesign? I can't find any language preferences in Creative Cloud (which a google search said required activation). Thanks in advance for any help.
Sorry. Me again. I realized once I selected the text block (with the missing font) in inDesign and then changed it to Adobe Arabic, it actually worked. I then had to select Adobe World Ready pargraph composer to get it to read correctly. So Adobe Arabic does show up once I cut and paste Arabic from another document but not if I try and type it or convert English. This solves my immediate problem. I did think I should be able to type in Arabic once activating Arabic language on my keyboard but on
It doesn't work in any inDesign documents I currently have or a new document. I can't fine Adobe Arabic in the list of Word fonts when I am in a Word document but if I select any fonts that are not English in the list in Word they do not actually change my font and a pink scribble line appears underneath. I haven't tried in Illustator or Photoshop but I doubt it will work. I really only care about getting the Arabic text to work within inDesign as that is the program I need to use to create the flyer for the client.

I primarily use English and I know how to change default English fonts in Gnome Tweaks. However I also read and type and Arabic from time to time, and I'm trying to find a way to choose the default font for Arabic text, as I really don't like the default Arabic font that is used, but I'm not sure how to change it. Gnome Tweaks only lists options for English.
Not. At least not the way I imagine what you want.
Iffff your preferred arabic font doesn't contain latin letters or your preferred latin font doesn't contain arabic ones, you can configure fontconfig to use one as fallback for the other. Otherwise this isn't going to work (font selection by utf-8 range is afaiu not possible)
If you have gnome tweaks already installed you may edit the css file: sudo nano /usr/share-gnome-shell/theme/gnome-shell.css.
if you scroll down to font-family you can replace the offered fonts with your choice. Download the ttf font noto nashk arabic from its website arabicfont.net and install it in /usr/share /fonts.
This may help you but there's no quarantee. If you run into trouble doing this there is plenty of gnome experts to assist you
First, you're describing how to switch the font for gnome-shell theme, which has nothing to do with the issue in first post. Second, there haven't been /usr/share-gnome-shell/theme/gnome-shell.css since gnome 3.12 or so.
Third, I don't know who the "gnome experts" you are talking about are, but if you're going to (mis)guide people, you should at least be prepared to assist with your own instructions, and not leave that to others.
Arabic fonts are unfortunately not relative to Latin fonts in size; when choosing a specific font size, then Latin fonts are definitively much larger. When regular browsers set a browser font which is readable in English, will be too small to read in Arabic even if font size is chosen same. It would be awesome if brave could automatically detect arabic fonts and resize them to be relative to latin fonts.
It does not look as it suppose to look like and also it adds some symbols that are not suppose to be there.
When I upload the same font file to other design tool (Pitch) it looks as it shown online of the font specimen page. What could be the problem here?
Hi, I've similar issue, same fonts are working in previous versions (Illustrator 2021) but 2022 can't read 90% of arabic fonts. It Shows the font and preview but when you select a font either its some boxes or just the same characters....
AXT (Arabic Xtension) fonts were created for QuarkXpress in the 1980s, they're bad enough to use in a publication as they're not searchable in a PDF. Adobe announced back in 2014 that they will stop supporting these fonts. I know AXT fonts are widely used in the Arab World because these fonts are bastards as no one owns them now.
i tried to create a template through Adobe Animate and export it to CasperCG, however, if i write in Arabic, nothing is shown, i can see the animation, but not the text inside, while when i try the English text, it works
There are two things to note here: 1st You need to make sure that the font you embeed in your template accually supports Arabic and 2nd: That you embedd also the arabic glyphs. Then it works like a charm.
My arabic templates are all copyright protected, so I should not give them out. But I can guide you a bit: If you right click in Animates library pane you can create a new Font. Then a dialog opens where you can select the font and style to embedd:
Dear Team, I hope you are well.
while integrating with outlook to automate our workflow, we would like to customize the emails which are sent to our clients and change the fonts, sizes , etc. However, this feature is not currently available.
It would be awesome if we could customize the automate emails so our clients would have a better view while receiving our messages.
Thank you for your assistance in advance.
