If your phone is displaying a "Camera Failed" warning, it is most likely a software issue and not a physical problem with the camera. Please refer to the following guide to troubleshoot the issue.
If you try to take pictures or videos using the Camera app but it keeps crashing or the 'Camera Failed' warning appears on your screen, resetting the Camera app may fix the problem. Please follow the steps below.
If the above steps did not resolve the issue, please visit your nearest Samsung Authorized Service Center, so we can assist you further with your concern. You may also book an appointment before visiting the service center.
Upon opening Camera app I receive the message "Warning: Camera Failed". Other apps utilizing the camera also no longer are able to. Trying another Camera app does not work as well. Sometimes, opening the Camera app just shows an Icon of a camera and nothing else on a black screen.
Same. Samsung replaced all the camera's to no avail, then replaced my S21 Ultra with a new phone that has network comnectivity issues. So now I've got a fancy camera but can't even make a phonecall from my own home. It's so frustrating
I have an EOS R and have succesfully used Camera Connect many times, largely without a problem. However, for no apparent reason, the feature quit working. First I tries uninstalling the app, reinstalling and re0initializing, but it still dropped the connection before even one picture would download (supposedly connecting correctly first). I the remembered there was a new firmware update for the camera so I re-did everything. Installed firmware 1.6, uninstalled the iPhone app yet again, and started everything from scratch. I then took the following steps:
Enabled WiFi on camera. Went in to WiFi settings and started configuration, selecting iPhone and WiFi. Scanned QR code, went into iPhone settings and enabled WiFi and connected to camera, entering the password provided by camera. So far so good, but when I then got the screen reading "Waiting to Connect" and "Start Cannon App Software on the Smartphone" the iPhone screen asked me to select what camera to connect to, showing the EOS R in the bottom white box, but when I selected the camera I got a massage on the phone that reads ""Connection to the camera failed" in the top box.
I'm having the same problem with connectivity with my iPhone and T7i. It had worked fine previously but I've probably connected 100 times so far and every time it either says the connection failed or just drops off.
It ocurred to me to try connecting to a different phone so I did that with the same result - failed! I initially thought it had to be the camera and in fact a Canon rep said I should send it in for repairs. After reading so many posts that others have similar problems though I decided that it can't be the camera.
Have a Galaxy S7 that is displaying "Camera Failed" any time an app that uses the camera is launched. Googling around shows this to be pretty common, and nearly everyone is claiming it's a software issue. However, this phone was dropped immediately before this "Camera Failed" issue came to light. According to the owner the rear camera stopped working immediately after the drop, and the front camera shortly thereafter.
same issue (with rear/main camera and occasionally with front/selfie camera) tried all the recommended software resets and even replaced the rear/main camera - I guess I will have to go out and shop for a new motherboard... right?
I have the same issue, managed to find a small way around it and set the camera focus in DJI GO 4 app instead of letting it manually do it in drone deploy. Let me know if you find a fix as its driving me insane.

I experienced the same issue. I imported AVKit instead og AVFoundation and tried to present the video in the native recorder view. That gave me an exception telling me to add NSMicrophoneUsageDescription to the info.plist file, and after this, I was able to display the live video in a custom view.
I managed to solve the problem. In fact, it is not directly related to react-native-image-crop-picker. The problem was that I was using react-native-actionsheet to give the user the option to open the camera or the gallery. When I opened the react-native-actionsheet and pressed one of the options, the camera was superimposing the react-native-actionsheet (modal) which generated a conflict, because apparently in IOS it is not possible for one Modal to overlap the other.
In my case, I was missing an Info.plist key for NSCameraUsageDescription. You should enter the purpose of using camera as the description. It fixed the crash for me.Plus, if you don't give the purpose, your app is likely to be rejected.
@Jshodgson I apologize that you are having an issue trying to pair your YI Home camera. To further troubleshoot this matter, please contact our customer support at sup...@yitechnology.com. Please refer to ticket #443789.
I was having this same issue with Yi Iot app and I downlaoded the new Yi Home app and all the cameras I had been trying to set up were right there all set up and ready to go I just needed to plug them back in. I had thought they were going to be useless but once I downloaded the Yi Home app they were all there and ready to go. Even the ones that said they could only pair with a 2.4ghz wifi were connected to my 5ghz wifi so its a VERY quick fix. plus the new app is better and so is the new cloud service.
Thanks for the awesome feedback @gvhanel. We would agree that the new app is much better. Change is hard though and some take longer to get used to than others. Glad to hear you were up and running in a flash!
My main issue is that the hardware v1.0 went offline. The green light was blinking and I left it for 10 hours after unplugging it again and again. After that, I decided to reset it, but it said "Failed to receive IP Address". The 2nd one (hardware v2.0) was working fine, so I decided to place that in the malfunctioning camera's position. UNEXPECTEDLY, this one suddenly couldn't connect to the WiFi either. It was working before I unplugged it, but suddenly stopped working after. Now I've reset the hardware v1.0 more than 10 times and the hardware v2.0 about 5 times now. Each time using different parameters. Take note that everything was working before 12am, July 21, 2021 GMT+8. I just saw that the hardware v1.0 was offline at around 1:00am.
Is there something wrong with the Tapo server or firmware? I can't check the firmware update without connecting. I can clearly see that the camera is able to obtain an IP Address, but disconnects a few seconds after receiving an IP Address. I've honestly not seen this issue before I updated both cameras. The hardware v1.0 was working perfectly fine 24/7 for months on end until recently. I regret updating or even changing anything because it's causing so much issues to have both my cameras offline.
It has to do with the encryption setting of your router. Since the camera does not work well with AES encryption in my experience. I have changed the method of encryption to "Auto" so it actually uses the TKIP. After this change it works like a charm!!
5. We don't have other AP or Range extenders. I have tried different SSIDs since the router provides up to 4 SSIDs. This worked for 1 day, but immediately stopped after for both. I was able to setup 2 other cameras (in storage) using both SSIDs about 2-3 days ago, but I haven't checked up on those.
Figure 1. Associated Devices log of my router showing my Tapo C200 Camera (I sent the full MAC Address via message) to the router with an IP Address, despite saying it failed to receive one.
@Winwin3642 Thanks so much for sharing all the detailed info, this issue you are experiencing sounds unusual. @ttarik Yeah. I replaced my router. I don't exactly know why my Tapo C200 couldn't connect properly, but it appeared as one of the connected devices for 5 seconds and would disappear and say "Failed to receive IP Address". It was also kind of time to upgrade to a Mesh Wifi, so I got the TP-Link Deco E4 (3-pack) and now it works fine.
@Pete9000 You can try using your mobile hotspot to set it up. If this works, your router might be the cause. It could be the encryption isn't compatible with the C200, so you might have to change the encryption or possibly replace the router/camera. I'm not too sure what happened to mine, but I chose to change routers since I also wanted a Mesh Wifi.
Same issue. Any cameras connected to the Homebase 3 gave that failed to request (-148) error. Cameras connected to wifi were working normally. All requests to the Homebase 3 had that error. Even trying to reboot it.
@Temple, if it's any consolation, I couldn't sign in either. I signed out and signed in with no problem. Then I made the mistake of updating the app and I couldn't sign in anymore - I just kept getting the email/password error message. I tried multiple old versions of the app and still couldn't sign in.
The camera I connect to is actually linked to my mother's Roku account. I have the Roku mobile app on my phone signed into my account. On the mobile app, I signed out of my account and into my mother's account. When I did that, the Smart Home app finally let me sign into my mother's account without the need to enter the password. If I sign out of the mobile app and sign out of the smart home app, I can't sign into the smart home app again.
