NSS IIT DELHI in collaboration with PETA and STRAW INDIA
bring to you
The 'FUR'ious Week
Four events with our furry four-legged friends
''
Until one has loved an animal, a part of one’s soul remains unawakened."

We from NSS IIT Delhi bring you "The 'FUR'ious Week' in which we have planned four events for you which will be interesting and will change your perspective towards animals.

1. An Interactive storytelling session by STRAW India:
An interactive storytelling workshop by Aakshat Sinha, organised by STRAW, specially designed for a large participatory audience, bringing forward the nuances of the love/hate relationship with our community's best friends.

What's in it for you?

* Listen in to a short story
* Learn how to create your own story
* Learn how best to tell your story
* Tell your story
* Get bragging rights to being an accomplished storyteller
* Be supportive of your community's best friends

5:00 PM,12th March (Tuesday)
Venue: LH 308

2. An interactive discussion session with PETA India:
This workshop will focus on the problems faced by stray dogs such as starvation. It will also teach you how to show your affection towards animals in a way that they can understand. Also, you will be introduced to the benefits of adoption, sterilisation of stray dogs and how should someone approach and help an animal in distress. For more information on PETA India click here

3. It's Feeding Time:
We all can agree upon the fact that animals too have emotions. They also feel fear, anxiety, happiness, love and not to forget hunger. So to make sure that no dog sleeps hungry we have established feeding spots where you can go and feed animals, in this session we will show you the locations of the various feeding spots and also give you a hands-on experience.

9:00 PM, 14th March (Thursday)
Venue: Nilgiri Hostel

4. A trip to Friendicoes Sanctuary, Gurgaon:
Located around 54 kms away from the city shelter, in a small village called Gopalpur Khera in Gurgaon, the sanctuary is home to almost 1000 animals. These are the animals who have either grown up there since they were babies, lost a limb to an accident, or are suffering from old age or some chronic disorder making them unfit to scavenge on the streets.
For more information, visit friendicoes.org
If you love animals, then this is your place to be. If you are scared of them then this is your opportunity to remove your fears and who knows you might even start loving them :). Also, you will get to see animals you would have never seen before.
