ABOUT THE INTERNSHIP
Himalayan Chipko Foundation will be conducting a month-long program in Navodaya Vidyalaya, Khaira in Pauri Garhwal, Uttarakhand for coaching students from rural background to prepare for various entrance examinations.
The program will be held from 27th May - 29th June, 2019 which will run in two batches of 16 days each. A total of 20 volunteers - 2 volunteers per subject (English, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry and Physics) per batch will be teaching there. Classes will be conducted daily from 8 am to 4 pm excluding lunch break. Since the students in Garhwal are not aware of the numerous opportunities that are known in the cities, we would also provide career counseling to them.
Witnessing the simplicity of village life in Himalayas is a beautifully refreshing experience. Volunteers will be residing in the college premises itself and traveling arrangements will be made. Food and lodging facility has also been made available with the help of the local residents. All these arrangements are completely safe. Female volunteers are also encouraged to apply.
Interested students are required to register before the deadline. A short meeting of the selected candidates with Mr. Jaya Prakash Dabral will be held immediately after major examination.
You will surely feel great after spending a few days, doing social work in the beautiful Himalayas.
