Hi, I'm a Flash Game Developer and so getting Flash objects embedded
pleasantly is important for me.

No matter what I do, however, all my Flash objects get resized to a
width of 500px, as can be seen here: http://cranktrain.com/pages/turbulent-tundra
. Now, in the HTML section of the page, I specify a width of 800 and a
height of 350, but it's resized right down. I'm not really sure why
this happens, because the bodytext div container is 800px. I've tried
a bunch of other themes, even just my own super basic one that
displays just the post content, but it is always, always resized.

What is going on?

Most iframes etc also get resized.. in some cases wider widths
actually get pruned from the html and iframe style is removed
completely.

I've asked for details on valid html/css but the answer I got was not
what I was hoping for..

"We're not really optimized right now for getting the exact HTML you
want into a post. In our most common case right now it's better if we
do our best to scrub HTML and make thinks "work". Admittedly this is
not ideal for people who know HTML and can lead to unexpected and
inconsistent results.... It's likely, however, that it's going to take
some time before we get to handling this well" (last Dec)

I *think* it would be easy to add an option to *not cleanup* the HTML
(if you know what you are doing).

FYI in *some cases* you can see the cleaned up results by switching
from the web based HTML view back to the rich text editor and back
again (iframe style gets removed).

ha just testing for this comment made me realize that the iframe width
can now be increased larger than 500px.

Posterous team, a known issues list with a change log or something
would be a great addition. Guessing and re-testing over and over get
old.

Thanks for the fix.. take credit and broadcast your updates (pretty
please).
