I started with PB in February, on a win 10 pc.
PB does a good job, and it is very stable.

Email is something we use a lot every day, so it must fit our needs as good as possible.
So I put a lot of time in understanding PB and getting it to my liking.

But I got these 'little' problems:

1. PostBox blocks my hotkey winkey+Z
It gives a bar with special characters. This is not mentioned in the help Hotkey list.
Does someone knows a way to turn that off or change it?
I really would not like to have to use another key combo.

2. Use a template as default
I made a few templates, and want one to be my default.
I can't find how to use a template as default when making a new email, or replying a mail.

3. no marking/flag on a mail, when it has been replied.
I am used to that in Outlook express. Helps to keep overview.
Does that exists in DP?

4. When I copy a text to an email, the URL's are not converted to hyperlinks.
http://www.aaaaa.nl/Download/bbb.pdf
Now I have to select each one, and click 'insert new link..' and enter.
Is there a faster way?

5. In the mail overview the column width is variable. But the automatic system is, well, stupid.
I want to see some columns fully, and others I don't care about much.
I can set the width, but it will be gone after resizing the PB window.
Can the column width be locked?
With a horizontal scroll bar, like most window programs.

6. Also each email-line takes up a lot of room: line - white space - email  - white space - line
Is there a setting to reduce the white space and to remove the line?

These things are not very important. But maybe they are easy to fix.
It wouldn't be the first time, I find there was already an easy solution for a problem I have been struggling with for years ;-)

I haven't experimented with the Hot Key issue and I don't use Templates, so no help there.

3) Markings: Right click on Subject and make sure Read is selected to show in the header.  That should give you a little arrow.  It sometimes does not show up right away after you reply, but it should show up eventually or for sure when you restart Postbox.

4) Hyperlinks:  Don't Cut&Paste but drag the link into the body of your email.  If you've never done this, typically you'll have a little padlock at the beginning of the URL, click, hold and drag the padlock into your email.  (Might be something else besides a padlock pending your browser and the site you're on.)

5) Column Width:  I don't think the column width can be locked.  My PB window opens in the same place and same size on my 2nd monitor.  So once I turned on and off what i wanted and sized it, that's the last I touched it.  But I do agree, these kind of User Options should be automatic in any program, but especially an email program.

6) White Space:  Not sure if this will help.  But in Options; Display; General you can change the DPI settings and the List Font Size.  Maybe a new combo of those settings will help.  Also, I know a lot of people like Threading, I don't.  So my emails are listed the as individuals as they come in.  So that may make a difference.

Sorry for the late response.
Thanks Pete, I am going to check that.

For my own question number 4) hyperlinks:
I find out, PB is converting the correct url's to links before sending the mail.
You can check that by saving the mail , and check the Draft.
