so frustrating! i've spent hours now trying to remove an account. i can't believe there's no such ability, so i must be missing something incredibly obvious.

i have three accounts, but want to delete a third that keeps throwing up certificate warnings (despite my specifying that Postbox remember that it's fine) and interfering with mail sending.

- i right-clicked the account in the focus pane, but there's no delete option
- i tried dragging it places, but there's no trash
- i scoured each of the menus, in particular Tools
- i got tangled up in Help, User Guide, and Troubleshooting (utterly fruitless and frustrating)
- i deleted the account's group, but the account just jumped out on its own
- i blanked all the fields in Account Settings, but it just puts the info back
- i went through this list at least three times

arg!

If you're using a Windows machine:
Got to the Tools menu.
Choose Options.
Choose Accounts
Select the account you want to remove.
Click the "Remove" button at the bottom of the the accounts list (next to the "add" button)

Hope that helps.

Aaron

Can't remember if it was there in version 3 or not, but it seems as though any email program that allows multiple accounts would have to have that. I guess you could try reinstalling what you have, or upgrade to version 4. This is not the accounts list that is on the main screen. Just to be clear:
Tools menu,
Options,
Accounts

Or right click on the account you want to delete and choose settings. You should see the same box appear. Again, I'm on the latest version of 4 so maybe it's different in version 3.

thanks. no kidding--i'm stunned i can't find the ability!
yeah, i'm definitely in the right place: Tools -> Options -> Accounts. there's no context menu on right-click on accounts there either, so maybe it's a bizarre weakness of v3. i wish i could even find a file somewhere i could edit.

you're right, i might have to mess with a re-install. i'm avoiding upgrading, due to support and number of flaws i've experienced. hoping to find different software, i guess :/
