The native UI for my Spectrum email server is impossibly cumbersome, so I manage my email in my Postbox client. Yesterday Postbox downloaded around 30,000 emails from Spectrum, some of which became duplicates of those I'd saved on Postbox, but the vast majority being things I had deleted locally. (Deleting on the Spectrum server is like an extended jail sentence.) My Postbox Inbox filled up, and I can no longer receive new email. I've deleted several thousand messages, but there is no end in sight.

Any suggestions for dealing with this catastrophe? I don't want to delete the contents of my Inbox, as it represents a very useful archive.
