Hi Abhishek and all,

Happy to see the minutes, while Sylvia and Lavanya also did update me.

Abhishek – I think there is a small mistake in the minutes, you meant 3.5 to 4 lakhs for the Regional consultations and not national meetings!

Ipshita – thanks for the mail to UNFPA/ UNICEF.

Thanks and regards,

Hello Aparajita,

Thank you so much for pointing out the error. It was indeed Rs 3.5-4 lakh per regional consultation (a very rough and tentative estimate in any case).

Warm regards,

Abhishek

Dear Abhishek,

Thank you so much for putting the minutes together so promptly. Obviously you did not get much sleep (looking at the time at which the mail came)!

Just sharing some comments on the minutes on a separate doc ( as the minutes are in a PDF format).

Thanks!

Hi All,

As per the 26,00,000 total we are discussing, it would be 6,50,000 per regional consultation. Keep in mind this is the revised figure once we added the national cost into regional consultations, since we agreed that there will be no UNICEF/UNFPA support national consultation during this period till 28th February 2013.

It would be important in the meeting today to stick the figure of 6,50,000 per consultation, else with 3.5 per consultation we will not manage 2 nights and 3 days for 60 people etc, as per our calculations yesterday.

Warm Regards,

Ishita

Dear All,

Apologies for spamming everyone's timelines. I need to attend to some urgent work that has to be submitted by 5pm today and therefore I won't be coming for today's meeting. Radhika will be there instead.

Hi Neha, thanks for those comments :)

Of course there may have been multiple interpretations for some issues since we discussed so much yesterday. Let me clarify the ones that you raised:

N1: Agreed. You have now summarized the actual discussion in your comment.
N2: Amitabh did mention a date before he left but we didn't have any discussion on it subsequently.
N3: Your comment clarifies the issue even more!
N4: Yes, and in any case I was referring to a single consultation only. Just copied what was I wrote on the board.
N5: I felt this could be resolved only after quantum of WNTA support gets known.
N6: In the end it was mentioned that each organization can decide it's own costs for resource persons and other budget heads, so that these heads are only indicative in nature. The Rs. 4000 per resource person figure was given by Restless Development.

If further needed, we can clarify all these before the meeting this evening so that a common statement is presented to UNFPA/UNICEF today.

See you there!

Dear Abhishek and others,

Apologies for the immense delay in writing to you this mail, though Ritu and I have been following the mails being exchanged. As per my telephonic conversation with you I would like to share that Nirantar will not be able to play the role of one of the working groups in the face of its work commitments for this and the next month. But we are surely interested in sharing our findings of the consultations that we have already had with the young people from UP. We will also place the context of our experiences with young people from BIHAR and Kolkata with whom we interacted recently around sexuality education issues and other issues and gaps.

I was trying to call Saurabh for the same as Josh is coordinating the regional consultation for UP, Bihar etc. but could not get through him.

Kindly let us know what do others think about this idea.

warmly
mridu

Dear Mridu,

Thanks a lot for your email. All of us shall be really happy to receive your cooperation as we go ahead with the regional consultations. Incidentally, JOSH is taking care of the consultation in Western India, while TYP Foundation shall be doing it for the North.

Your experiences will definitely enhance the scope and depth of the final drafts that we submit to the UN.

Looking forward to your cooperation,

Abhishek
