Meeting on 2nd Jan

Greetings and best wishes for the new year; may it bring success and prosperity to all of us!

I just wanted to highlight the fact that the working group for the Post-2015 Youth Consultations (that is, Us) had agreed to convene a meeting in Jan first week (2nd Jan, to be precise). The objective was to decide upon the modalities of cooperation with the UN agencies and more importantly, to discuss the sharing of responsibility for the future course of action.

Please let me know if we can have a meeting on 2nd Jan (tomorrow), as was decided earlier. A knowledge of your availability and preferences shall help us in planning this meet better.

Meenu is in a board meeting on the 10th and the 11th and I am in an organisational review process both of which had been planned much earlier... this was one of the reasons why we had shared our dates in advance. 

Alternates that work for us are now in the next week, that is 15th first half, 16th or 17th Jan.

Dear Neha,

We might change the timings so that Pravah does participate in the meeting. It should be a shorter duration meeting anyway (about 1-1.5 hours).

If others have no problem, then we can keep open the entire second half (1-4 pm) on Thursday so that Pravah can choose the timing. (Response awaited from TYPF and other organizations). In case this doesn't work, Shilpa or somebody else from Pravah may attend.

Dear All,

The civil society working group for the Post 2015 Youth Consultations in India shall be meeting at NFI Conference Room at 3 pm on 10th Jan (Thursday).

Since Pravah have expressed their inability to be a part of this meeting, we can present here a brief outline of what are we going to discuss in the meeting, to keep them in the loop and set a tentative agenda.

Our goals in the meeting would essentially correspond to what Ishita had summarized in the joint email sent to UNFPA by the working group on 21st Dec 2012. These are given below (TENTATIVE ONLY):

a) To discuss all the issues concerning Youth (thematically or constituency-wise) and decide who shall take the lead in respective consultations - how, when, where and with what target group.

b) Agree upon the number, timeline and framework for consultations to be conducted by each organization iin the working group, and present a budget estimate which can then be submitted to UNFPA/UNICEF. 

(Since it may not be possible to precisely estimate all these in a single meeting, we can just finalize the total budget and the total number of consultations, and discuss the modalities for individual consultations at a later date.)

It turns out the the first half of the above agenda has already been discussed thoroughly during our earlier meetings held at NFI, which involved the participation of all the working group organizations (Minutes attached for the first two meetings). Since we are somewhat short on time, the progress achieved in earlier meetings can come handy.

We shall be obliged if Shilpa or some other member of Pravah can be a part of this meeting, since Meenu and Neha are unavailable.
