Post Carbon Friends,

This week on Friday nite and in a Saturday Workshop you will be given a chance to learn from and develop because of a world-class workshop leader and catalyst.  Barbara Ford explains how to get beyond the futility that many of us feel related to trying to improve ourselves and the world around us.

Barbara's expertise is explaining exactly how to move from despair (depression or giving up) to em-powerment (feeling able to continue to work on ourselves and working for what we believe in).

She will present a lecture this Friday nite at the U, and a workshop Saturday, where you can get the meat of the matter.  Join us and experience the kind of enlivenment and empowerment that is necessary to carry on this work!

Our western culture has become a culture of dissociation- from the earth, our creativity, our communities, our economic system, our bodies, and recently, the truth itself in political rhetoric.  We will explore how to strengthen our roots of connection in these and other areas of our lives as we navigate this time of cultural chaos and stratification.  This is a FREE presentation.

Feeling overwhelmed by the climate crisis?  Are grief and despair holding you back from action?  How do we stay present, emotionally and spiritually, in order to participate effectively and joyfully in the healing of our world?  How do we move beyond psychological barriers to confront climate change with determination and empowerment?   Come join us as we work through grief and despair to action, empowered to engage, advance, and defend a livable future.  Based in large part on the revolutionary work of eco-philosopher Joanna Macy, called The Work That Reconnects, this workshop will help participants move through disempowering numbness & despair toward a deeper sense of clarity and purpose regarding our role in the healing of the planet. As we honor our deepest feelings and gifts; our intention, vitality, creativity, and sense of connectedness deepen; opening a channel of joy and meaning for our work in the world.
