LECTURE:  Sacred Economics:  Money, Gift & Society in the Age of Transition
Wednesday, April 17, 7:30 pm
Social Work auditorium, University of Utah

Why does it so often seem that money is the enemy of social justice and environmental sustainability? Is it that we must fight a perpetual war against greed? This talk offers another explanation: the problem is in the design of the money system itself, which embodies a relationship to Earth and a way of being human that is becoming obsolete today. The present economic crisis (which we all know isn't going away) is a birth crisis, propelling us into a very different kind society.
