Attend the Salt Lake City Council Meeting to Support Curbing Climate Change Now

Dear Salt Lake City Friends,

Albany, New York became the first city to join the Center for Biological Diversity’s Clean Air Cities campaign by passing a resolution in support of using the Clean Air Act to curb global warming now.  The Salt Lake City Council will vote on a resolution urging & supporting the Obama Administration to use the most important tool in the toolbox to fight global warming now: the Clean Air Act.

When: Tuesday, March 6 at 7:00 p.m.
Where: Salt Lake City & County Building, Room 315, 451 So. State St., SLC
Attached are some brief talking points.

There is some possibility that our agenda item will be postponed until a later meeting.
You can call the Council at 801-535-7600 to find out.  We will send an email if we learn it has been postponed.

Your efforts are even more urgent now as some in Congress are intent on stopping the EPA from moving ahead with long-overdue efforts to not only reduce greenhouse gas pollution, but also rules to reduce mercury and other toxic metals, as well as smog and soot.  We are looking to our cities to stand up to big polluters and stand for the Clean Air
Act and with your help Salt Lake City will be the next Clean Air City.

With many thanks for all you do,
Rose Braz, Climate Campaign Director
