Iam attempting to replicate an existing Storage Policy with some differences associated with Media Agents for the copies. There is a existing setting called Archiver data Retention with a setting of 63 days for certain copies, but looking at the Copy properties for Retention, I am unable to find that setting.

Which types of archiver agents do you have in use? I only ask as archiver retention is a legacy concept now and most agents have moved away from honoring the storage policy setting in favor of object retention configured on the subclient.


OHHH, so the issue lies at your exchange not at the archiver, the hosed item is blocking traffic to the archiver? I have no experience with exchange at the sever level, but from what i have gathered, there should be a Queue for the archiver, you are probably looking for some random piece of spam.


and will just get worse, get a mod to move this to the exchange group, you will get better help. The problem is not Barracuda, it sounds like ti is working, just nothing getting to it. I bet you SAM could tell you exactly what to do to resolve this too.


Additionally, each scope within Premium journaling can be further limited by selecting only certain Journal Recipients. This causes only those messages within a scope that are sent to specific SMTP addresses (mailboxes, contacts, distribution lists) to be journaled. If no recipients are specified, then the scope takes precedence.


To ensure that journaled message archiving begins as soon as your Exchange Servers are configured to send them, register each Exchange Server as a Trusted SMTP Server with the Barracuda Message Archiver (on the MAIL SOURCES > SMTP/IM page) prior to configuring your Exchange Servers.


Once the Barracuda Message Archiver is configured to receive SMTP traffic, you must complete the following from the Exchange Management Console of each Exchange Server that will be journaling directly into the Barracuda Message Archiver:


Click Edit to the right of the External e-mail address field, and in the SMTP Address dialog, enter the desired delivery email address. The account name can be anything you wish, but the domain name must match what was created in the previous section, e.g., journ...@barracuda-archiving.int


At this step of the wizard, you can optionally enable usage of the Amazon archiver appliance when Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 creates a backup copy. Backed-up data is transferred between different instances of the general purpose object storage (Amazon S3 Standard and Amazon S3 Standard-Infrequent Access storage classes) or to any of Amazon S3 Glacier object storage (Amazon S3 Glacier Instant Retrieval, Amazon S3 Glacier Flexible Retrieval and Amazon S3 Glacier Deep Archive storage classes). If you use the archiver appliance, it usually speeds up the backup copy process and helps you reduce costs incurred by your cloud storage provider. Also, using the archiver appliance, you protect your backups because all operations with backed-up data are performed within the Amazon cloud.


The Amazon archiver appliance is an auxiliary EC2 instance that is deployed and configured automatically by Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 in Amazon EC2 only for the duration of a backup copy job. Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 removes or reuses it after a backup copy job completes. By default, Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 always keeps one archiver appliance for reuse.


Introducing Archiver 4.0 - a cross-platform, multi-format archive utility and Go library. A powerful and flexible library meets an elegant CLI in this generic replacement for several platform-specific or format-specific archive utilities.


However, creating archives from files on disk is very common, so you can use the FilesFromDisk() function to help you map filenames on disk to their paths in the archive. Then create and customize the format type.


Simply use your format type (e.g. Zip) to call Extract(). You'll pass in a context (for cancellation), the input stream, the list of files you want out of the archive, and a callback function to handle each file.


Identify() works by reading an arbitrary number of bytes from the beginning of the stream (just enough to check for file headers). It buffers them and returns a new reader that lets you re-read them anew.


Let's say you have a file. It could be a real directory on disk, an archive, a compressed archive, or any other regular file. You don't really care; you just want to use it uniformly no matter what it is.


It can be used with http.FileServer to browse archives and directories in a browser. However, due to how http.FileServer works, don't directly use http.FileServer with compressed files; instead wrap it like following:


http.FileServer will try to sniff the Content-Type by default if it can't be inferred from file name. To do this, the http package will try to read from the file and then Seek back to file start, which the libray can't achieve currently. The same goes with Range requests. Seeking in archives is not currently supported by archiver due to limitations in dependencies.


Tar archives can be appended to without creating a whole new archive by calling Insert() on a tar stream. However, this requires that the tarball is not compressed (due to complexities with modifying compression dictionaries).


If root is a directory, its contents are accessed directly from the disk's file system.If root is an archive file, its contents can be accessed like a normal directory;compressed archive files are transparently decompressed as contents are accessed.And if root is any other file, it is the only file in the file system; if the fileis compressed, it is transparently decompressed when read from.


It first tries the file name as given, but if that returns anerror, it tries the name without the first element of the path.In other words, if "a/b/c" returns an error, then "b/c" willbe tried instead.


Consider an archive that contains a file "a/b/c". When thearchive is extracted, the contents may be created without anew parent/root folder to contain them, and the path of thesame file outside the archive may be lacking an exclusive rootor parent container. Thus it is likely for a file systemcreated for the same files extracted to disk to be rooted atone of the top-level files/folders from the archive instead ofa parent folder. For example, the file known as "a/b/c" whenrooted at the archive becomes "b/c" after extraction when rootedat "a" on disk (because no new, exclusive top-level folder wascreated). This difference in paths can make it difficult to usearchives and directories uniformly. Hence these TopDir* functionswhich attempt to smooth over the difference.


Some extraction utilities do create a container folder forarchive contents when extracting, in which case the usermay give that path as the root. In that case, these TopDir*functions are not necessary (but aren't harmful either). Theyare primarily useful if you are not sure whether the root isan archive file or is an extracted archive file, as they willwork with the same filename/path inputs regardless of thepresence of a top-level directory.


ArchiveFS allows accessing an archive (or a compressed archive) using aconsistent file system interface. Essentially, it allows traversal andreading of archive contents the same way as any normal directory on disk.The contents of compressed archives are transparently decompressed.


A valid ArchiveFS value must set either Path or Stream. If Path is set,a literal file will be opened from the disk. If Stream is set, newSectionReaders will be implicitly created to access the stream, enablingsafe, concurrent access.


NOTE: Due to Go's file system APIs (see package io/fs), the performanceof ArchiveFS when used with fs.WalkDir() is poor for archives with lotsof files (see issue #326). The fs.WalkDir() API requires listing eachdirectory's contents in turn, and the only way to ensure we return thecomplete list of folder contents is to traverse the whole archive andbuild a slice; so if this is done for the root of an archive with manyfiles, performance tends toward O(n^2) as the entire archive is walkedfor every folder that is enumerated (WalkDir calls ReadDir recursively).If you do not need each directory's contents walked in order, pleaseprefer calling Extract() from an archive type directly; this will performa O(n) walk of the contents in archive order, rather than the slowerdirectory tree order.


CompressedArchive combines a compression format on top of an archiveformat (e.g. "tar.gz") and provides both functionalities in a singletype. It ensures that archive functions are wrapped by compressors anddecompressors. However, compressed archives have some limitations; forexample, files cannot be inserted/appended because of complexities withmodifying existing compression state (perhaps this could be overcome,but I'm not about to try it).


DirFS allows accessing a directory on disk with a consistent file system interface.It is almost the same as os.DirFS, except for some reason os.DirFS only implementsOpen() and Stat(), but we also need ReadDir(). Seems like an obvious miss (as of Go 1.17)and I have questions:


Map keys that specify directories on disk will be walked and added to thearchive recursively, rooted at the named directory. They should use theplatform's path separator (backslash on Windows; slash on everything else).For convenience, map keys that end in a separator ('/', or '\' on Windows)will enumerate contents only without adding the folder itself to the archive.


Map values should typically use slash ('/') as the separator regardless ofthe platform, as most archive formats standardize on that rune as thedirectory separator for filenames within an archive. For convenience, mapvalues that are empty string are interpreted as the base name of the file(sans path) in the root of the archive; and map values that end in a slashwill use the base name of the file in that folder of the archive.
