Keeping the POS Family informed about upcoming graduations September 2011
Nearing the Finish Line: Graduation 2012Congratulations future POS Alumni you're almost done! We wanted to remind you to take care of any issues that might keep you from graduating with your class next year. Please take some time to go over the graduation requirements and make sure you are up to date with them.1. Take all the seminars either by live attendance, video, or internet training.2. All financial obligations must be current.3. Pass the written final examination. (Short essays)4. Present 2 of your cases of any type in front of your peers at the final seminar to prove you can provide quality ortho in your office. Cases must include the following:
- Full start records and "final" (does not need to be a finished case) records with cephalometric overlays
- Write-up of your case experience (Microsoft Word format
, include in CD along with Powerpoint)- Initial diagnosis: treatment options considered, predictions of final result, treatment decision with reasoning, treatment plan, appliance diagnosis, and the actual experience documented
- Cases must have a diagnosis that considered incisor torque, archwires, rotations, molar buccal tubes, and bracket positioning
- CD with the digital powerpoint presentation, submitted with consents for scientific publication (website) from yourself and the patient
- Expect CDs to be collected in the beginning of your 12th session

POS Honors ProgramGraduating with honors represents a student's ability to go above and beyond the norm. We honor students with a special engraved plaque they can hang in their office or home. Honors students are also entitled to special discounts on the first yearly update.
In order to qualify for honors status you must complete the general graduation requirements in addition to the Honors Program requirements.For Honors: You need to have varied case experience in 10 different areas. At least one case must have been treated with ceramic brackets, at least one case with headgear (any kind), and at least 2 cases including mixed dentition treatment. You need to have a total of at least 30 cases started.For Highest Honors: In addition to the above requirements you need to have case experience in 15 different case types. Graduation DinnerOn Sunday evening of the last seminar we host a graduation dinner to celebrate the completion of the program. At the dinner we present you with your diploma and/ or honor award.Friends and family are also invited. We ask that you give us a count of how many guests will join you for the dinner. The price for guests is $50 for adults and $25 for children under 12. Dinner is free for graduates.IMPORTANT: You will be receiving a Student Attendance Record Sheet along with your confirmation Letter through the mail.This sheet will ask you to verify 4 things. 1) How you want your name on the diploma 2) Will you attend the dinner 3) Number of guests and 4) Verify which seminars you are missing and need to make- up.
Make-Up & Review:(Server is back Up!)If you need to review before graduation take advantage of our streaming seminar videos and IAT material. If you missed classes please contact us to give you access so you can qualify to graduate.
