Dear POS Family,
I cannot believe that another year has flown by. 2013 was a memorable year for POS, with the retirement of Dr. Don McGann as well as the launch of many new programs, including our new affiliations with Universities worldwide. I am pleased to say that my Dad (Dr. McGann) is thoroughly enjoying retirement, giving him time to experience everything in life that he previously did not have time for. He is excited for an upcoming trip to see the Australian Open (thank you Aussie Grads for the generous gift of tickets to this amazing event), and enjoying the freedom of retirement by getting to slowly travel up the Eastern Coast of Australia after the tournament (he is hoping to make it as far as Cairns but has not finalized an exact itinerary yet...the joy of being retired!).

As for POS, we continue to find amazing new opportunities while getting to meet interesting people from around the world. Our new relationship with International Medical College (IMC) has allowed us to offer Master of Science Degrees in Orthodontics, Implants, and Esthetics. The degrees are Bologna Accredited (highest level in Europe), and given from a variety of universities worldwide (and based in Germany). The programs are a unique "Local + Global" approach, allowing you to fulfill many of your requirements in your local market, while also experiencing cutting edge hands-on in a University setting. This affiliation is also opening up many more opportunities at other universities worldwide, as academia is beginning to see the quality of education offered through POS. Keep your eyes open to many new locations as these relationships with universities worldwide continue to develop. Even though Dr. McGann has retired from live teaching, his legacy of the update continues on. I am about to embark on our typical worldwide update tour at the end of January, and I look forward to seeing many of you on our stops. I have created a team of 5 of our top instructors (Dana, Krennrich, Hymer, Wier, and Taylor) to develop new ideas and concepts for these cutting edge seminars, and their creativity and practicality is already coming through in this first year. Dr. Dana ran the first trial of the update here in California last weekend, and the response from the class was amazing. Do not miss this seminar, as you will learn concepts that will improve your practice immediately. The seminar is very practical, and is open to all (even if you have not been to an update in years). Take advantage of the opportunity to see old classmates, stay in touch with the POS family, while also learning something new. Also, I will be at most of the locations, so if you have ideas, comments, suggestions I would love to discuss this with you (or just have a drink together). The seminars will be held in Madrid, Amsterdam, Vienna, Aliso Viejo, New York, Sydney and Kuala Lumpur. You may see the tour schedule that starts in January here.

I want to thank you all for your support over the past year. I feel incredibly blessed to have gotten to know so many of you over the years, and I look forward to meeting many of you in the coming years. The POS Family is one of the most diverse and unique groups in the world, and the opportunities that are available to experience other cultures and point of views are truly remarkable. I hope you all have the chance to spend time with family and friends this Holiday Season, and I look forward to a wonderful 2014!
